I recently took the Intentional Communication Course with our leadership team. It was an amazing course that really helped me understand the significance of communication and helped me to identify ways that I can improve my communication. Not only on how I give information but also on how I receive information.

I could tell that our leadership team all enjoyed the course and learned a lot. I have already noticed ways that they have put into practice some of the principles that they have learned. Which is amazing to see how quickly good communication can speed up work and improve team morale.

It was an excellent course! If you’re considering taking the course for your team, then do yourself a favor and invest in your team in this one!

As one of the owners of our Empower Physical Therapy practice, I am excited that we had our entire team participate in the Caseload Optimizer course. I felt that the content of the course was excellent and very applicable to any PT clinic and team. The videos and workbook were excellent. The questions in the workbook were good at helping you reflect and think about how you will utilize the tools and information that were just given to you and the team.

We have a great team and many great processes that we already practice, however the Caseload Optimizer course not only reviewed some of those key SOPs that we do, but opened our eyes to many other ways of looking at or doing things that will help optimize our clinics and company. I really feel that however wonderful your team is currently, that taking your team through this course is worth it and will help improve your practice.

After our team finished the course, our arrival rate improved significantly!

I had heard over and over of the importance of communication in a successful organization but didn’t fully appreciate how integral this skill was until the Intentional Communication Course. This is a FOUNDATIONAL skill to any successful organization. I appreciated the layout of this course- His videos were brief but filled with nuggets, making the most of my time. The lab portion helped me think on my own situation and discuss with peers, making the topics even more ‘sticky’. He did a great job making sure everyone participated to get the most out of the course.

I highly recommend any leadership you work with take the course with you so you can speak the same communication ‘language’ and spare yourself the headache of being the only example of ‘good’ communication in your organization.

I now have a new vision and development plan in both my business, but realistically in my life and with everyone around me, including my family, who will all be beneficiaries of, and I have already seen changes and how this has improved my relationships and quality of life!

I have been a practicing physical therapist for over 38 years and an owner of 2 physical therapy clinics. In physical therapy school we were never taught how to run or manage a physical therapy office. I thought I knew a lot about physical therapy and still believe I do, but now I know how much I didn’t know about running and managing a facility. We hired Michael about six months ago as a coach and have not been disappointed. His Executive Coaching techniques have taken us to the next level and helped me personally understand how to measure and manage a physical therapy facility. The Caseload Optimizer Course created a better understanding and perspective on simple, systematic ways to improve the flow of my practice, so that our group can be in more control of the caseload for patient compliance. Michael was very patient with staff and offered a lot of insight. I recommend this course.

We saw an immediate increase in our arrival rate after the course and have been averaging 90-92% consistently for several months now.

This Intentional Communication Course was an excellent use of time and resources for our team.

It brought awareness to the opportunities that we are exposed to in leadership positions, along with tools and strategies to implement for success.

Like all things, practice is required. However, the Intentional Communication Course is excellent as it provides the basic framework for our team to trial during their experiences. I have had the pleasure of knowing Michael Nula for the past 15+ years! We first met at a Physical Therapy conference and have been friends and colleagues since then. At that time Michael & I were both in the very beginning stages of starting our private practices. The Intentional Communication Course through Nula Trainings Systems was an incredible teaching tool. You often hear about how important communication is and just assume that people are born and/or raised as natural communicators or not. After taking this course, I learned that communication is just a skill that can be developed and improved like any other trade or skill. The importance of correct, clear and intentional communication was taught very well. The principles taught were clear, concise and yet very effective for implementation into the workplace. I feel like my team started to understand each other and learn the correct principles on proper communication with each other. We continue to have more work to do but now feel like we have the tools and principles to apply and how to practice and improve our communication each day.

I love now knowing how to acknowledge my team, how to prepare and have difficult conversations, and overall be better and preventing miscommunication! Thank you so much for your hard work in creating this program, Mike! It was wonderful!

Long story short- I went from fatigue and frustration in a solo location to a multi-location company within a year after meeting Mike Nula.

I had closed down a 10-year multi-disciplinary company in 2019 due to burn out and an overly complicated business model.  I launched a PT-only cash practice as a fresh start right after the other company… and right before the pandemic! We did well considering the circumstances, but employees were shuffling as things began to open. I had several poor interviews, no shows, etc. and was frustrated in my efforts to find the right people for my new company.

I was actually considering closing this practice as well and hanging up my hat officially.

It was just by chance a mutual friend introduced me to Mike Nula at this very point in time. We had just met, but he unwaveringly told me “You’re going to sell this practice”. I hired him on the spot and have felt a ton more confidence under his guidance.

The Intentional Communication Course has helped me cement strategies for communicating with my team and patients. It has helped me to be a better leader by understanding strategies for active listening and being intentional in communicating. The Coach Based Leadership Course has helped me to better understand the facets of leadership and the ways people can be leaders differently. It has helped me recognize my team receives feedback and encouragement in different ways and that it is best to always circle back and ensure everyone is on the same page. The idea of asking more broad questions has helped in my practice as well to not make assumptions that anyone is on the same page as me.

I can’t recommend this Intentional Communication Course enough! It provided practical tools and strategies that provided me with a working framework with how I interact with both my team members and patients. The course was tailored to the unique challenges of rehab professionals, emphasizing empathy, active listening, and clear, respectful communication. The Coach-Based Leadership Course helped provide a framework for me to reference my attitude, internal environment, and outward behavior against. Creativity thrives under structure, and I found the structure of his 8 competencies to be a sound checklist to self-assess my effectiveness as a clinician when patient facing, a coworker, and a leader. I will return to this framework frequently as I continue to grow and pursue self-actualization.
Strategically leveraging strengths of those around me was a great concept to learn. It’s a strategy I’ll aim to employ in all of my life facets in any collaborative environment.

What I enjoyed most about the Coach Based leadership Course was the opportunity to examine my own strengths and challenges with regards to the eight competencies of leadership—I think it showed me where I have room to improve and areas that I already feel are strengths; identifying those strengths helps me realize the place I have in this team and the areas that I am most helpful. For example, I think my adaptability and my discrimination help me work with a variety of different people and be solutions-based in my interactions. It also helped me appreciate exploration and creativity, which aren’t personal areas of strength, but are qualities that I see and appreciate in my colleagues.

I think I will actively apply the learnings into my work; I believe we build clinicians and ourselves from the ground up, and that until we move through the levels (physiological, basic needs) we cannot hope to help others achieve mastery and self-actualization—it informs our work by helping us view each interaction as a smaller version of this framework, versus approaching the interaction from a “do this now” perspective. It also allows us to model this for other people who may be stuck in “lower” levels, to help them build as well.

Speaking for myself when I say I have been put into a position of leadership without having any formal training on how to effectively do so. I enjoyed that we went through the Coach Based Leadership Course as a team at the start of our transition with this new structuring of roles, as both an educational and a team-building activity. Good way to start the day on Thursday morning to get us thinking about why we do what we do in our roles, and how we present ourselves to further our own careers and the success of the company. I enjoyed that the sessions were relatively short but thought-provoking and tended to carry the information with me throughout the rest of the day to reflect on why I am doing things the way that I do. Getting a small taste of how specific learning on coach-based leadership and, more broadly, how to be a more effective leader and mentor, has inspired me to dig deeper into these topics as a continuing education to create and inspire continual growth not just with myself, but with the entire team. When we rise to the occasion, people around us tend to follow. I am looking forward to watching those around me grow and develop while I do the same.
